Changes To Haloxyfop Use In Canola

  • The European Union has recently reduced the Maximum Residue Limit (MRL) for haloxyfop (i.e. Verdict®) in canola. This change is expected to be made in the second half of 2023, though no specific timeframe has been announced.

  • The new MRL means that growers are being advised to no longer apply haloxyfop on canola.

  • Clients’ agronomists should be contacted to discuss alternative grass selective herbicide options in canola.

  • Growers who have warehoused/stored canola which was treated with haloxyfop in 2022, are being encouraged to consult with their grain trader, as this grain may fall under the same restrictions if sold later in 2023.
