Firebreak Residual Control Strategies

Controlling weeds along fence lines and firebreaks is a critical part of integrated weed management. Residual herbicide products offer alternative modes of action and reduce the number of passes required to prevent weeds from encroaching on crop and pasture paddocks.

Most residual herbicides are bound by plant material, therefore it is important to apply while firebreaks are bare from pre-sowing knockdowns and before winter weeds germinate. Therefore, soon after sowing is complete is the best time to apply these products.
