Ground Applicator Licence

As of 1 July 2018, any person applying pesticides to weeds or soil for a fee will be required to hold a Ground Applicator Licence. The requirements to obtain a licence are:

  • To be 18 years or older

  • Attained competency in the following units:

    • AHCCHM303 – Prepare and apply chemicals

    • AHCCHM304 – Transport and store chemicals

  • Provide a passport photo

  • Pay the $300 application fee to the EPA

Licences are valid for 5 years and a separate licence is required for every applicator.

It is the responsibility of businesses that engage contract sprayers to ensure that they hold a Ground Applicator Licence.
