Crop Topping with Roundup Attack

During 2013, Roundup Attack will be registered for use as a pre-harvest treatment in canola to reduce the seed set of grass weeds. Details of the registration are likely to be as follows: • Use rate of 1.15 to 3.6 L/ha

• Application timing; prior to windrowing, under the cutter bar, over the top of windrows and prior to direct heading

• Withholding periods will be 1 day to windrowing and 5 days to harvest

Such applications are a bandaid solution to a weed control problem and should not become relied upon as common practice. However they do provide another tool which in conjunction with other weed control options, may help to reduce the number of seeds set in any given year.
